Sexual Abuse Case Consultation
(SACC) Lunch programs
The Sexual
Abuse Committee has responded to the need for improved education and training
opportunities for therapists and other professionals working with victims of
child sexual abuse.
The Sexual
Abuse Case Consultation or SACC Lunch program provides 2-hour consultation
programs for interested professionals.
All meetings have a one-hour educational component from 12:00 p.m. to
1:00 p.m. with case consultation during the second hour from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00
p.m. Meetings are held at Project
Harmony in the upstairs conference room from noon to 2pm. Nancy Thompson facilitates the meetings
and all in attendance are invited to offer feedback on cases presented. CEUs are available and, of course, you
are welcome to bring your lunch.
Please
contact the committee chair regarding your plans to attend and/or to staff a
case at a SACC lunch. Staffing is
not required; you are welcome to come and listen! Although priority is given to cases involving sexual abuse
issues, participants are also welcome to present any new case to Nancy and the
team of professionals in attendance.
Professionals
of all disciplines (no foster or adoptive parents, please) are invited to
attend – it is often helpful to have therapeutic, educational, and legal
perspectives available. Please
plan to attend both hours.
MCAC
sponsors this peer consultation group that is free of charge to MCAC members
and employees of member agencies.
Non-members are charged a $5 admission fee.
